The recent opening of South Bank Tower, and launch of the Viewing Gallery, was marked by an exclusive event with a private performance by Brit-award winner, Paloma Faith, and guests including Donna Air, Lily Cole and Erin O’Connor.
South Bank Tower, acquired by independent real estate firm CIT in 2010 is the first of its kind, and has been carefully designed to capture the unique identity of the development with its 193 apartments as well as showcasing London’s skyline like never before.
Prospective buyers can now experience a new perspective of the city with a spectacular viewing gallery, created in the building’s highest and most prestigious duplex penthouse. The gallery showcases the exceptional space, light and panoramas, along with a specially commissioned design installation by internationally renowned architectural practice, Design Haus Liberty.
‘Mercury’ is the breath-taking installation by Design Haus Liberty which follows the commissioning of its design concept for a 39th floor duplex penthouse, the jewel in the crown at South Bank Tower. The installation features 1,000 mirrored spheres, ranging in size and organised as a spine of frozen droplets suspended in mid-air, which reflect and refract one another to create illusions of London’s skyline.
The viewing gallery will be open to the public at selected times over the next few months.
George Kyriacou, managing director at CIT, commented, “Having successfully reached this important stage in the development of one of the capital’s most iconic buildings, we knew we had to celebrate this moment. Through our commitment to world-class design, the viewing gallery has allowed us to creatively capture the scheme’s unparalleled views and offer buyers a viewing experience to remember. We are also thrilled to be able to offer access to the public later on this year.”
A leading prime riverside address, the South Bank is now regarded as one of London’s premier cultural hubs and was one of the best performing areas in prime central London last year. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) all apartments are located from the 11th floor upward and benefit from breath-taking views with floor-to-ceiling glazing. Residents will benefit from a 24 hour lifestyle concierge as well as a range of five-star residents’ facilities including a roof-top lounge with dining area, business suite, a 20-metre pool sauna and steam room, state-of-the-art gymnasium and private cinema and one of the capital’s largest private roof gardens.
A collection of show homes created by leading interior designers are now available for viewing.
Prices at South Bank Tower start at £2,450,000 and first completions are underway with final completions scheduled for 2016.
