AWM London Property Panel: A detailed look at investment in London

Event 24-10-2019

Experts and investors from the world of property discussed the future of investing in our Capital at the Asian Wealth event in late September.

The crème de la crème of the property industry gathered at Asian Wealth’s London Property Panel 2019 on Thursday, 26 September 2019.

Hosted by the Greenwich Peninsula at their venue, The Hub, the event was an opportunity to bring together experts, professionals and entrepreneurs from the world of property and real estate.

Eighty guests gathered on-board a chartered boat embarking from Westminster Pier for a scenic journey along the Thames. Invitees from the world of property included entrepreneurs and developers to interior designers and investors.

They were joined by hotelier Tony Matharu who opened the night with his story on how he made his fortune in London property. Known as a true Londoner, the billionaire described the power of investing in London.

Once the guests reached their destination at Greenwich Peninsula, short speeches were given by AWM’s partners of the evening, Greenwich Peninsula, Investec Private Bank, Oman Air, Harold Benjamin Solicitors, St James Interiors, and The Global Indian Series.

The panel discussion with key speakers was hosted by property investor Tej Singh, Director of Bricks & More. Experts on the panel included Michael Linane, Partner at Allsop; Mohamed Zaghloul, Head of Middle East Desk at Sotheby’s; Andrew Ludiman Commercial Director, Greenwich Peninsula; and Philip Eastwood, Partner and Head of London at The Buying Solution.

The lively discussions were driven around topics such as how Brexit will affect the property market, forecasted developer trends, ideas on areas of investment in London, and opportunities for investors.

Guests later moved on to the roof terrace to continue networking. Max Warner from ‘The House’ and global ambassador of Havana Club Rum curated special rum-based cocktails for the night and mingled with guests to educate and enlighten people about the rum. In a prize giveaway on the evening Oman Air gave away two business class flights to Oman, and The Global Indian Series gave away a 5-star holiday for four to Portugal.

The London Property Panel was part of Asian Wealth’s series of exclusive events for selected guests to encourage like-minded people in the business and property world to meet in a relaxed and friendly environment. The evening generated a sense of awareness around the Greenwich Peninsula which has a 20-year development plan, making it one of the biggest regeneration projects in London.

Sunny Patel, AWM Commercial Director said: “The property sector has become one of the biggest industries that we, AWM, operate in. For this event, we wanted to bring together our networks in this sector to enjoy an evening of industry insights, share knowledge, and make connections.”
