Always keen to make every event different, Female Focus hosted AWM and other members to the ‘Creative Calligraphy’ event at Minerva’s Mayfair offices in mid-September.

The event hosted by Vaishali Shah combined networking with the increasingly popular art of calligraphy, in an attempt to help members fall in love with writing by hand and bring back the all but forgotten art of hand written communication.

Female Focus, launched by Minerva Trust and Corporate Services and headed by Vaishali Shah, Director at Minerva, is an exclusive network for successful and influential business women around the world who have distinguished themselves in their careers. Since Female Focus was launched in 2013, its members have established mutually beneficial business relationships and friendships, and been a force of inspiration for other women to succeed and make their own mark in the world.

Commenting on the event, Vaishali Shah said: “From my personal experience I have found calligraphy to be both therapeutic as well as hugely satisfying, knowing that it will be more meaningful to the recipient to get a hand written note from me. In our increasingly busy and stressful lives, I wanted to find a creative and enjoyable way to ease the burden of stress which is why I organised this Calligraphy masterclass.” 

Several attendees agreed on the therapeutic quality of calligraphy as they continued to practice during the workshop.
